???men

Nowadays, it is funny how male creatures forget to put the word "gentle" before men... Let me correct myself, it is ANNOYING how male creatures forget to put the word "GENTLE" before 'men'.

---

I always ride a bus every time I go to Manila and during Mondays I always had the dilemma of finding a seat because it's the start of the week--many student-dormers, students and employees try to get to school and work all together.

Here's the scenario:
if it's not my Monday, I would have to stand for one and a half hour and make sure to hold on tight to handles if I dont wanna find my face on somebody else's property (if you know what I mean).

If I'm lucky enough, I can find myself a seat where I can declare my butt as the queen...

but wait there's more..
.here's a big IF for me, my friend. IF there's even one guy in the bus who offers his seat for me to declare my butt as the queen of HIS throne.

So yeah...

Last Monday, I had to ride a bus to Manila. I am late so I couldnt wait for the next bus (which has free seats). So I rode the first Cubao bus that passed. There were no free seats and the aisle was almost full of standing ovationers. So I stayed in the back because it's more convenient to stand there than in front or somewhere in the middle. The standing ovationers were composed of many guys and two girls--the lady in the middle and yours truly. The bus was from Nueva Ecija, so some of the passengers got off somewhere in Bulacan. I was surprised to see that when a passenger stands and goes to the door of the bus to get off--the leaving--the male standing ovationers were fighting for leaving's throne, trying to get first on the seat to declare their butts to be the king! UNBELIEVABLE! they didnt even bother to offer the seats to the ONLY TWO girls, who have much skinnier legs and fragile feet than they do! Dont they realize that? Selfish pricks.

Anyways, on my way home. I also have to ride a bus. And this time I'm lucky because i'd definitely have a throne of my own. I was right, there was a seat waiting for me in the last row of the aisle seats. I was so happy and relaxed and then put my iPod shuffle on work mode...AND THEN..A family of three--old mom, college kid, and little girl--rode the bus. Unfortunately all the seats were taken. I thought someone would be kind to offer his/her seat to the old woman. I waited...and waited...and waited. Tanananananananan....I OFFERED MINE.

Lemme count the men at the back part of the bus, where I am seating and the family were standing. There was one beside me, two in front of me and one in front of them and another beside him, and also one in the middle of the back seat. So there were five, and no one even dared to offer. DAMN.

Man, I didnt write this post to brag about what I did, i wrote this because i want to share (or even to make people realize) that it isn't hurtful to be kind and courteous not sometimes but ALL THE TIME (whether youre a man, a woman, or a gay). let us not forget how we value traditions and the rule of politeness. i bet those guys, doesnt even want to see their mothers standing on the aisle of the bus with a bunch of machos with butts reigning the seats. ONE AND HALF HOUR isnt as painful to your muscled legs and sturdy bones as compared to an old woman calloused feet and breaking bones, MAN UP!

Don't let the word GENTLEMAN lose its meaning, or lose the word itself. I wouldnt be surprised if one day, it's forgotten and dead like the Latin Language--never evolving, never used.

I wanna be a SOUL ...

What do you see?

That's an eye of a fly.

---

When things get vague and do not make sense, maybe, you're looking at it too closely. If that's the case, perhaps, the best thing to do is to change perspective.

What does Changing Perspective mean?

Let me illustrate it with the movie Soul Surfer, which is based on a true story [the same movie where I got the intro of this blog post :))]

Bethany Hamilton, an avid fan of the waves and surfing, lost her arm when a shark attacked her while training for the Regional Surfing competition. She fears she lost everything cos she thought she wont be surfing anymore. Until, finally, she went on a trip to Phuket, Thailand to help the victims of Tsunami. There she realized that surfing isnt the most important thing in the world but love--love that drives other people to help one another, love that gives hope to those who despair, love that is stronger than fear.

Changing perspective is like finding inspiration--they are both constant struggles in life. They are both vital to survive the waves that crash down on you. It's confusing at first but like in the movie, we do not know why terrible things happen, but we should believe that "something really good will come out of it."

The SOUL SURFER

After watching Soul Surfer, I am now officially one of the zillion Bethany-Hamilton fans.

The things I admire about the Hamilton girl:

Fortitude

  • When her arm was ripped off, she didn't even scream, she even paddled herself to the nearest land she can reach.
  • She didn't blame anyone for what happened.
  • She faced life like the way it was before the accident, however in a more positive way.
  • She conquered her fear, and surfed again.

Pureness/Kindness

  • The way she thinks doesn't involve so much about self-interest but of all's interest.

Uniqueness

  • On interviews, her answer is not the usual showbiz-type that a 13 year-old girl would say. It is different, a right kind of different.

Host: Do you think after losing your arm, you would surf again?
Bethany: Think? I know I will surf again.

Humility

  • She acknowledges God's plan for her, which is to move people's lives.
---

The world needs more Bethany Hamilton. I guess, it's time for me to be one and find the word that would complete this blog post's title. :) Leggo inspire the world!

P.S.

The movie's just perfect for MAMA MARY'S BIRTHDAY. Happy Birthday, Blessed Mother!

Arthur

Arthur's like life...full of surprises

I thought Arthur is just another nonsensical comedy with the purpose of killing my brain cells with every bits of idiocracy and stupidity (well, it did in some parts) You can't blame me! With Russell Brand bragging his ass out in posters and trailers, who would ever thought this movie would make sense after all?

Trailer.

Arthur (the character) is annoyingly cute! It's like I wanna throw him out for being stupid, childish, and everything in between and then change my mind because he's too funny. It's hard to hate him, you know, cos at the back of your mind you know it's not his fault he grew up that way.

In the movie, I dont even wanna believe the sad parts cos, you know, WHAT THE HELL is this serious?? Cos I'm hell sure Russell Brand's still joking! Buuuuut, the part where...okay I dont wanna spoil you...surprisingly got me teary-eyed and it broke my heart.I never expected the impact on me; I didn't see that one coming! Kudos to the screenplay.

Indeed, he's the ONLY lovable billionaire!

This one's a must-watch for people looking for a good laugh. BTW, I hated Jennifer Garner here--a total bitch. lol and yes, hey spoiled brats, pls thank the Warner Bros. for making you a very entertaining lesson teacher.

P.S.

I envy you Katy Perry!

Quick chalalala

I just realized B is the most thoughtful ever. :"> *pauses for kilig*

Well, you know. Kung kaya nyang gawin lahat para sa akin--para hindi na ako mahirapan. 100% sure akong ginawa na nya. Kaso natural law must not be opposed. Otherwise, disaster.

Every time na magkasama naman kami feel na feel ko na 'yun eh. Pero nung isang beses na nagmovie kame dun ko mas napatunayan. Nanunuod kami ng Captain America nun, eh naiihi ako. You know, I got the tendency to inform the person I'm with with some irrelevant body issues, so I told him, "B, naiihi ako." The moment I said that...BOOM. ramdam ko na..the pain, the anxiety, the williugness...WILLINGNESS NA SYA NA LANG UMIHI IN MY PLACE PARA HINDI AKO MAKAMISS NG MAGANDANG SCENE. lol Totally cute :"> Pero syempre ako pa rin umihi para sa sarili ko no.

Di lang thoughtful yang si B, gentleman din. Kanina lang 'to nangyare. The seats in the bus were all occupied, tas etong si Ate nalate, naubusan tuloy ng upuan. Kawawa naman. Buti na lang nasa aisle kami pareho ni B. Magkahiwalay ng seat. (badtrip nga ako eh. chos) So B offered his seat. Pero sa totoo lang, ginawa nya yun para may excuse na sa tumayo sya near me. awww. :3 <---assuming peyz. lol I am such an assuming girly.

Whyd I share this? Wala lang...to spread cheesyness sa world. Ikaw may kwento ka bang keso?

P.S.

Loveyou, B. <3
